This episode is why I don't agree with the claims one sometimes sees from Marcus-haters that he is a Gary Stu. This is the one and only time when something that Marcus personally does has a major influence on a plot arc, and in this case it's something that only he (as a full member of the Rangers who was there before Delenn started taking it over, and therefore would be respected by Neroon) was capable of doing.
