B5 was pretty much my first fandom. I was indoctrinated by my best friend at university, a couple years after the show ended, because she was so desperate for someone to talk to about it *g*. A couple of years later she picked up an almost complete set of the videos very cheap, and made me watch. I liked it quite quickly, which I hadn't expected, and by about Signs and Portents I was addicted. We watched from Divided Loyalties to Into the Fire during a particularly intense two-week burst one vacation, I remember!
I found B5 people on LJ quite early on; it was definitely my first LJ fandom, though I was being Enterprise-fannish in other venues at much the same time. So I was actually well positioned for the surge when the DVDs came out; I'd already been hooked and could watch all the newbies arrive *g*. It's still my favourite TV show, bar none, though I've been in fandom continuously since, particularly ENT and SGA.
