I was hooked pretty much from the first episode of the show's Channel 4 broadcast in the UK, and when I went to university just after Z'Ha'Dum was broadcast I discovered the internet and my first internet fandom. I was active on the Pathfinder B5 bulletin board and its descendants under the name "Shrike" and encountered a lot of pan-fandom experiences for the first time there, from the pro/anti-Marcus wars to the email campaign against Channel 4's cutting of the show for violence to the guy freaking out about hoe the fandom was full of lesbians when people started speculating about those two characters in Gaiman's episode.
