I first happened upon the show in 1994 or 1995. I was a fan of the series Time Trax which aired alongside Babylon 5, and if I recall correctly, I happened to catch the tail end of a couple of random eps of B5 while waiting for TT. Or maybe it was that I caught the beginning of a couple eps after watching TT - I can't exactly remember. But I know at first I wasn't impressed, but the snippets I caught got progressively more intriguing... I happened upon the show again a year later, and that's when I really fell for it and started watching full eps. Without being spoilery, I'll just say that the complexity of the issues the show was dealing with at that time really blew me away. I was a fan of a lot of sci-fi, but I didn't know any other show that told such layered stories. The storytelling also appealed to my love of world history. And the characters. My goodness. I have never known such characters.

I've never been active in any B5 fandom online, so I was pretty thrilled to hear of this community. It's also great because I haven't rewatched the series all the way through in some time. I'm not active in any fandom right now, but I am a long time fan of shows like TNG, Stargate: SG1, Farscape, Homicide: Life On The Street, and Due South.
