Rewatch for Season 3, Episode 19 – Grey 17 is Missing
Another of vjs2259’s superb recaps:
Dreamwidth
Livejournal
And the analysis and JMS’ commentary at The Lurker’s Guide to Babylon 5
As vjs2259 put it, another Rubber Monster Episode with the Zarg! Whee! But there is more to the episode than that. Garibaldi is lost in Grey 17 when it comes up missing. He is taken captive by a looney cult and almost shown a painful path to perfection. This is just another step in Garibaldi’s journey AWAY from the others and their war.
Delenn is to be the new head of the Rangers, the Entil’zah and the Warrior Caste is pissed as Neroon comes to stop the ceremonial ‘swearing in,’ as it were.
We see Lennier becoming more willing to bend his moral code to take care of Delenn as he sends Marcus to battle Neroon and keep him from stopping the ceremony. Minabri must not kill Minbari but it’s okay for Marcus to die (well, to be fair, he does have a death wish).

Also, telepaths are being recruited to join in the war, Stephen is suffering from withdrawal on his walkabout.
No one have ever noticed that Grey 17 is missing? Really?
Oh, and after he nearly beats Marcus to death, Neroon visits him in Medlab and makes a pretty speech.

1. Did you enjoy the silly B plot with the monster?
2. Was its point to really show us how isolated Garibaldi is becoming? Or just to thrill us with said rubber monster?
3. Delenn told Lennier to send Sinclair’s things to his family back home. Did we ever know about him having family?
4. Could Franklin have walkabouted somewhere better than Downbelow? The station is huge and he hung out in sleazy bars and back alleys?
5. IS Delenn a religious zealot bent on taking over Minbar?

The B-plot was just stupid and the diet-Ben Kingsley was extremely annoying. And the Zarg death was a reenactment of the Monty Python sketch.
