This is the discussion post for "War Zone". Spoilers for the whole of the series, including the spin-offs and tie-ins, are allowed here so newbies beware. If you have any fanworks related to this episode, you can also leave links to them in this post.

We say farewell to Crusade in the form of the TNT-mandated extra pilot episode with the added explosions, exposition, violence and macho men. Even JMS himself has pretty much disowned it, hence it's position in the revised episode order.

So... how does it compare to the 'real' pilot episode "Call to Arms" and "Racing the Night" that was originally slated to start the show? Are there any redeeming qualities, or is this really the worst episode in the whole B5 canon?

It was the first one I ever saw so I kinda liked it. I think Trace is pretty and wish we'd seen more of him.

Gideon seriously reminds me of George Armstrong Custer in this ep... sort of a fierce little macho dude with a can do attitude and of course, Gary actually played Custer once too.
