Rewatch for Season 4, Episode 11 – Lines of Communication

Very fine recap from VJS2259:
Dreamiwdth
Livejournal

And some analysis and such at The Lurker’s Guide to Babylon 5

Stuff is a mess:
ISN is still saying awful things about John and it sounds as if Clark is gearing up to attack B5. This pisses John off and he comes up with the idea for Ivanova to become the Voice of the Resistance, to counter some of Earth’s ‘fake news’ and to send messages to members of the resistance.

Delenn gets reports that Minbari allies are being attacked and she decides to take the White Stars out and investigate. She, of course, finds the Drakh and that a MInbari is the traitor who has been talking to them, We get to see a Drakh and see him sort of phase in and out, which is quite cool and we never see it again.

Franklin preaches the gospel of Sheridan to the Resistance and while Mars has no love for Sheridan, Number One knows they need help if they really do want independence. She also is sweet on Stephen. And Marcus is silly.

And there you have it.

One last thing: last week we had ‘woo hoo’ and this week, we got “Oh Stephen!” And there’s more…

*

1. Did you find the Drakh as creepy as I did? I did like the way they shimmered.
2. Was the Sheridan – Ivanova Pajama scene weird to anyone but me?
3. Did Forell even tell Delenn the truth about thinking the Drakh could help? Was he as annoying to you as he was to me?
4. Did you enjoy Marcus cheerleading the Number One/Stephen romance?

S4, Episode 11:  Lines of Communication

I apologize for the lack of pictorial content; it has been quite a busy time at Chez vjs2259. This episode sets up the Minbari Civil War to come, gives Stephen a chance to mix business with pleasure, gives us a new villain of which there is more to come, and highlights two Awesome Ladies neither of which is named Ivanova! Also some nice Lennier moments, a bit of John/Delenn goodness, and some nice space battles.

Usually my main memory of this episode is the godawful representation of the Drakh, but there was So Much More!!

Discussion:

What is up with the Warrior caste? I mean, really, guys. Find another hobby.

I feel the two upcoming civil wars should have been longer, lasting perhaps a season, going back and forth between events on Minbar and events on the station, Mars, and Earth. With loads of angsty sad panda messages between John and Delenn. Oh wait. Did I say that out loud?

Lennier is such a devoted subordinate. I used to side-eye Delenn pretty hard for just accepting his devotion without really seeing him. Maybe she should have been the one to 'look up'.

Do you agree that Susan oozes sincerity, and is the right person to be the Voice of the Resistance? What is it with Sheridan's WWII fetish? Also, could anyone NOT notice Susan's pj's??
